August 19- 23, 2019, 9 am - 12 pm (lunch 12:00-12:30)
Open to students who will be taking Latin III or Latin IV in the fall

Are you a Latin student going into Latin III or IV? Are you looking to get a head start on the year? Do you feel like you would benefit from some additional review and practice? If so, this class just might be what you are looking for! This course is designed to review all the crucial grammar and vocabulary needed for success in Latin III and Latin IV. Particular emphasis will be placed on the uses of participles, infinitives and the various ways Latin authors used the subjunctive mood. There will also be review of the historical and cultural context of the literature students will read in the third and fourth year. This course is strongly recommended for Honors level students or current non-Honors students wishing to make the transition into the Honors track, but ALL students going into Latin III or Latin IV are welcome.

Tuition:  $480.00

All materials and lunch will be provided.

 

MIKE GIRARD, instructor

Michael Girard has been teaching Latin at Rivers since 2001. Before coming to Rivers, he taught at the Bentley School in California and the Williams School in Connecticut. Michael has coached Middle School girls’ basketball and junior varsity baseball. He has also served on the Discipline Committee and on the Faculty Enrichment Committee. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in Latin and Greek from the University of Vermont and received his M.A. in classics from Fordham University.
